VLC Media Player Short Keys
The VLC media player is one that is overtaking many computers. This VLC player is actually taking the place of many other media players, such as Windows Media Player. Now, everyone has their preference of media players, but with the exceptional new features that the new version 1.0 of VLC media player has to offer their customers, who want a different media player? Not me!The free VLC media player is able to play numerous different formats and even allows for the conversion of one format to another format. In addition, there is server built in for video streaming. You just need to have a few things set into place and you can broadcast your very own videos on the World Wide Web; however, that’s another blog post.
Right now, we are going to discuss some of the short keys for the VLC media player. Short keys are always beneficial because it takes a smaller amount of time to perform a particular action.
By using the space button, you can play or pause your video.
By using the letter “s”, you will be able to stop your video.
By using the + sign, you will be able to play your video faster.
By using the – sign, you will be able to play your video at a slower pace.
By using the letter “t”, you will be able to position your video.
By using the letter “n”, you can go to the next item.
By using the letter “p”, you will be able to go to the previous item.
By using the letter “f”, you will be able to turn your video into full screen.
By using the letter “m”, you will be able to mute your video.
By using Shift + Right Arrow, you will be able to forward your video 3 seconds.
By using Shift + Left Arrow, you will be able to rewind your video 3 seconds.
By using Alt + Right Arrow, you will be able to forward your video 10 seconds.
By using Alt + Left Arrow, you will be able to rewind your video 10 seconds.
By using Ctrl + “q”, you will be able to quit the video.
By using Ctrl + Up Arrow, you will be able to turn your volume up.
By using Ctrl + Down Arrow, you will be able to turn your volume down.
By using Ctrl + Right Arrow, you can forward the video one minute.
By using Ctrl + Left Arrow, you can rewind your video one minute.

Thanks for the tips on the short keys. You never know when you’ll have to turn the player off quickly when the boss walks in!

Is there a way to turn the short keys off? I like to listen to stuff while I type, and I wouldn’t want the computer to mess with the volume and stuff.

You have to love short keys! Thanks for the rewind one in particular, I hate when the phone rings and I don’t get the video paused in time!

These short keys sound great! Do they interfere with any other programs while you are using them?
